This photo sums up Jarhead's personality in two words...........Happy Boy!!! He is at his happiest when he is chasing a ball in the backyard or throwing a stuffie up in the air and catching it. He is cat tolerant and small dog tolerant. He is definitely a "people" dog and especially likes children. Jarhead enjoyed all the attention he got at our last Meet and Greet in Warner Robins Petsmart.

Gotta Love Washing a Greyhound

I decided to give Jarhead a bath last Saturday to help cool off from the heat. One thing I love about bathing a Grey instead of another breed is you can bath them by yourself without ending up soaking wet. Mr. Jar-Jar stood perfectly still for me. He even gave me a kiss after it was finished. Sorry no photo, while it is possible to bath a grey by yourself...it is not possible to bath one and take a photo at the same time. We have not had an opportunity to write about how wonderful Jarhead is because we had two graduations in our household this last weekend. We also had a house full of guests. I was not sure how he would react to all the commotion in our house, since he was newly away from the race track. He took it in stride and seemed to enjoy the comings and goings. To his credit, Jarhead has had perfect manners, even though things have been a little off schedule. He is quiet while in his crate and goes in his crate easily. He loves the attention of people, he is definitely a people dog. He loves to chase a toy or ball and especially loves his stuffed rabbit. We have had the opportunity to take him on a few walks in our neighborhood, he is a dream to walk and just takes in his surroundings with quiet curiosity. Our greys could learn a thing or two about walking from him. He will make someone a wonderful addition to their family. Please think about making room in your home for this very sweet boy!!!

Jarhead is such a sweet guy. He enjoys being with people & his tail is always wagging. He's happy to go outside & play. He's happy to walk on leash with you. He's happy to go back inside the kennels. He is not happy when he thinks you are going to put him back inside his run. He would rather be out in the office, visiting & exploring. However, when you say "Kennel up" he dutifully goes in, stands for a moment to make sure you are not going to change your mind & let him out again, then lays down for a nap. This is life with Greyhounds folks. Jarhead is no exception. They are so wonderful & almost all are so easy to live with.
